HOUSEKEEPER - JOB DESCRIPTION

HOTEL HOUSEKEEPER

Reports To: Front Desk Manager

Job Type: Full-Time/Part-Time

Salary: Competitive, commensurate with experience


As a Hotel Housekeeper at Boardwalk Suites, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of our guest rooms and public areas. Your attention to detail and commitment to high standards will ensure a comfortable and welcoming environment for our guests.


Key Responsibilities

  • Room Cleaning:
    • Clean and tidy guest rooms, including making beds, changing linens, dusting, vacuuming, and mopping.
    • Clean and sanitize bathrooms, including sinks, toilets, showers, and bathtubs.
    • Replenish room supplies such as towels, toiletries, and minibar items.
    • Report any maintenance issues or damages to the Housekeeping Supervisor.


  • Public Areas:
    • Maintain cleanliness of public areas, including lobbies, hallways, elevators, and restrooms.
    • Ensure that common areas are free of trash, dust, and debris.
    • Clean and polish furniture, fixtures, and surfaces as needed.


  • Laundry Duties:
    • Collect, wash, dry, fold, and distribute hotel linens and towels.
    • Ensure laundry is processed according to hotel standards and protocols.
    • Monitor and maintain laundry equipment, reporting any issues to maintenance.


  • Guest Interaction:
    • Respond to guest requests for additional supplies or services promptly and courteously.
    • Provide excellent customer service, ensuring a positive guest experience.
    • Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor at all times.


  • Inventory and Supplies:
    • Keep track of cleaning supplies and inform the Housekeeping Supervisor when supplies need to be replenished.
    • Properly use and store cleaning equipment and products.


  • Health and Safety:
    • Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe environment for guests and staff.
    • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
    • Properly handle and dispose of waste and hazardous materials.


Qualifications


  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous housekeeping experience in a hotel or similar environment preferred.
  • Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
  • Good physical stamina and the ability to perform manual tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
